MICHLOVIC, Thomas A., a Representative from Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties; born in Braddock, Allegheny County, Pa., February 21, 1946; B.A., political science, University of Pittsburgh, 1972; B.A., public administration, University of Pittsburgh, 1976; served, United States Army (1967-1969, Vietnam War; Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal recipient); founder, Medal of Honor Scholarship; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1978; served 11 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, chair, Special Bipartisan Committee to Study the Impact on Pennsylvania Consumers of the Divestiture of AT&T (1984); congressional appointee, White House Conference on Travel and Tourism (1995); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2002); member, Pennsylvania Securities Commission (February 18, 2004-2017); chair, University of Pittsburgh Office of Child Development Advisory Board.
