LEVI, Joseph, II, a Representative from Butler and Venango Counties; born in Oil City, Venango County, Pa., January 31, 1924; graduated, Oil City High School; B.S., economics, Bucknell University, 1948; pharmacist mate, United States Navy (1943-1946, World War II); oil producer; elected, council, Oil City (1961-1965); appointed, commissioner, Venango County (1965); president, Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Committee (1973-1974); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1974; reelected for 3 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Local Government Commission (1979-1984); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1984); died, March 31, 2019 in Surfside Beach, Horry County, South Carolina.
