ORIE, Jane Clare, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., September 18, 1961; graduated, Vincentian High School, 1980; B.A., Franklin & Marshall College, 1984; J.D., Duquesne University School of Law, 1987; Assistant District Attorney, Allegheny County; deputy attorney general, division of criminal prosecution, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1996, 1998 and 2000; resigned from the House, April 3, 2001; elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate in a Special Election (March 20, 2001-May 21, 2012); elected, Majority Whip (2007-April 6, 2010); appointed, Joint State Government Commission (2007-2010); appointed, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (2007-2010); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (2008).
