WOODWARD, John W., a Representative from Schuylkill County; born in Jonestown, Schuylkill County, Pa., November 29, 1860; coal miner; operator, wholesale and retail tobacco business; assessor, Minersville; tax receiver, Minersville (1897-1901); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1904 and 1908; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1906); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1910); director and president, Union National Bank, Minersville; died, August 4, 1929 in Minersville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
