WOBENSMITH, James Chambers, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, February 9, 1879 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Central High School, 1894; served, Company H, 1st Regiment, United States Volunteer Engineers (1898, Spanish-American War); draftsman and machine engineer; patent lawyer (1909-1973); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1914 and 1916; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1918); president, Society of American Magicians; died, December 28, 1973 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Timothy’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
