WILLIAMS, George Wallace, a Representative from Tioga County; born in Tioga, Tioga County, Pa., June 23, 1859; graduated, Wellsboro High School; hemlock and hard wood dealer; vice-president, Tioga County Savings and Trust Company; president, Savings Building and Loan Association of Wellsboro; elected, burgess, Wellsboro; elected, council, Wellsboro; elected, auditor, Wellsboro; school director, Wellsboro public schools; elected in a Special Election to the Pennsylvania State Senate (January 15, 1907-1908); Republican Presidential Elector (1908); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1911 term; reelected to the House for 11 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1934); died, February 18, 1948 in Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pennsylvania; interred, Wellsboro Cemetery, Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
