WELTY, Benjamin F., a Representative from Franklin County; born, August 11, 1848 in Smithburg, Washington County, Md.; teacher; farmer; miller; distiller; judge of elections, auditor, assessor and school director, Waynesboro; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1890 and 1900; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1892, 1902); died, May 31, 1924 in Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
