WELLS, Edward Waters, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, November 12, 1874 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Central High School, 1893; graduated, University of Pennsylvania, 1895; LL.B., University of Pennsylvania Law School, 1898; lawyer; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1916 and 1918; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1920); presidential appointee, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (1931-1933); chair, Philadelphia Rationing Board; appointed, coordinator, Office of Price Administration activities; died, January 31, 1947 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
