WELLER, John Critchfield., a Representative from Somerset County; born, August 31, 1851; graduated, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania), 1875; teacher (10 years); justice of the peace, Milford Township (1880-1940); elected, county superintendent of schools (1881-1887); farmer; elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1888); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1890; reelected to the House in 1892 and 1902; not a candidate reelection to the House (1894, 1904); member, State Agriculture board; died, February 28, 1940 in Gebhartsburg, Somerset County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Cemetery, New Centerville, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
