WEIKERT, Edward L., Jr., a Representative from Adams County; born in Mount Pleasant Township, Adams County, Pa., July 24, 1890; graduated, Littlestown High School; attended, Cumberland Valley State Normal School (now Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania); attended, Valparaiso University; teacher; school principal; farm and estate superintendent (4 years); gubernatorial appointee, Forest and Game Warden, Virginia; Edgewood Arsenal (Md.) Superintendent of Construction, United States War Department (World War I); engaged in automobile business; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1926; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1928); died, July 29, 1971; interred, Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania.
