WASSON, Dr. Elgie Lavernze, a Representative from Butler County; born in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pa., July 12, 1875; graduated, West Sunbury Academy; M.D., Baltimore Medical College, 1898; attended, John Hopkins University, specializing in abdominal surgery and gynecology; school teacher (3 years); physician; engaged in oil production (7 years); director and stockholder, Evershed Land and Improvement Company of Niagara Falls and Suburban New York Realty Company of New York; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the 1909 and 1911 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1913 term; died, June 13, 1931 in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania; interred, North Side Cemetery, Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania.
