WARD, William, Jr., a Representative from Delaware County; born, July 7, 1865 in the city of Chester, Delaware County, Pa.; graduated, Chester High School, 1883; deputy collector, Port of Chester (4 years); proprietor, real estate and fire insurance business; elected, controller, city of Chester (1905-1909); elected, council, city of Chester; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1909 and 1911 terms; resigned from the House, November 28, 1911; elected, mayor, city of Chester (1911-1916, 1932-1939); elected, commissioner, city of Chester (1917-1918); elected, prothonotary, Delaware County (1921-1922); elected, chief clerk, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1939-1940); died, March 6, 1949 in the city of Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania; interred, Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
