THOMAS, Lorenzo D., a Representative from Luzerne County; born in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, Pa., November 3, 1874; attended, Wood’s Business College; ordained, Baptist minister, 1910; attended, Y.M.C.A. College, Springfield, Ma., 1913; shipper, Lehigh Valley Coal Company; engaged in general construction (18 years); secretary, Y.M.C.A. at Potomac Park Bliss Electrical School and Walter Reed Military Hospital, Washington, DC (1914-1918); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1921 term and served 3 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1929 term; pastor, Miner Congregational Church; died, May 23, 1954 in Meshoppen, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania; interred, Pittston Cemetery, Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
