SWAN, John, Jr., a Representative from Allegheny County; born, December 4, 1871 in Allegheny City (now Pittsburgh), Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, University of Pittsburgh; assistant director of public works, Pittsburgh (1906-1909); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1910 and 1914; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1912, 1916); director of public works, Pittsburgh; contractor; died, August 17, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Dale Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
