STRAUSS, Benjamin Morris, a Representative from Berks County; born in Bethel Township, Berks County, Pa., September 20, 1855; attended, Swatara Institute; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); graduated, Palatinate College; teacher (7 years); lawyer; clerk, Reading Area Water Authority; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1912, 1916 and 1920; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1914, 1918); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1922); died, October 13, 1935; interred, Saint Luke’s Cemetery, Shoemakersville, Berks County, Pennsylvania..
