STEVENS, George H., a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, September 6, 1862 in New York City, New York County, NY; glass mold maker; appointed, police inspector, Pittsburgh (1888-1890); employed, Federal Internal Revenue Department (1890-1893); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1898, 1900, and 1902; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1904); proprietor, Commercial Hotel (1903-1905); manager, Independent Brewing Company; proprietor, Hotel Connor; died, January 17, 1919 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
