SPEER, David, a Representative from Franklin County; born in Lurgan Township, Franklin County, Pa., February 12, 1843; teacher; superintendent; engaged in general merchandise business; member, board of education (6 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1909 and 1911 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1913 term; superintendent of public schools, Martinsburg, WV; coal merchant; died, August 16, 1927 in Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
