BLACK, Ronald E., a Representative from Venango County; born in Oil City, Venango County, Pa., September 23, 1935; B.S., Slippery Rock State Teachers College (now Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania), 1957; attended, Officer’s Candidate School and Defense Language Institute, United States Army; commander, United States Navy (1958-1979); director, Oil City Area Retail Merchant’s Association (1980-1981); chairman, “911 Emergency Number” Task Force; chairman, Oil City Economic Development Corporation; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1984; reelected to serve 3 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1992); member, Oil 150 Committee.
