John, a Representative from Indiana County; born, March 23, 1869 in East Mahoning Township, Indiana County, Pa.; attended Covode Academy; graduated, Indiana Normal School (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania); school teacher (5 years); mercantilist; school director (3 terms); elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1895); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Glen Campbell, Pa. (1897-1902); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1902 and 1904; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1906); oil operator; elected, commissioner, Sapulpa, Ok.; elected, Oklahoma State Legislature (1910-1914); elected, mayor, Sapulpa, Ok.; died, December 2,1928 in Sapulpa, Creek County, Oklahoma; interred, South Heights Cemetery, Sapulpa, Creek County, Oklahoma.
