SMITH, John Hill, a Representative from Greene County, born in Sycamore, Greene County, Pa., February 20, 1846; teacher (1863-1868); farmer; cattle farmer; enumerator, United States Census (1880); elected, justice of the peace (1886, 1892, 1897: appointed, 1891); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1899 and 1901 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1903 term; died, May 23, 1919 in Morris Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania.
