SMITH, Dr. Albert M., a Representative from Snyder County; born in Beaver Township, Snyder County, Pa., February 25, 1846; attended, Union Seminary, 1861; graduated, Missionary Institute (now Susquehanna University), 1867; M.D., Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), 1870; corporal, Company I, 49th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1864-1865, Civil War); doctor; surgeon, Pennsylvania Railroad Company; member, Snyder County Board of Pension Examiners; unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1878); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1898 and 1900; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); died, November 22, 1909 in Snyder County, Pennsylvania; interred, Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.
