SIPES, John P., a Representative from Fulton County; born in Licking Creek Township, Fulton County, Pa., January 25, 1857; attended, Cumberland Valley State Normal School (now Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania); member, Draft Board, Fulton County (World War I and II); teacher; lawyer (1879-1951); elected, District Attorney, Fulton County (1882-1885); solicitor to county commissioners, Fulton County (15 years); editor, Fulton Democrat (3 years); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1904 and reelected in 1906; not a candidate for reelection to the House in the 1908 General election; elected, solicitor, Fulton County (1917-1924); died, March 18, 1951 in the city of Baltimore, Maryland; interred, Union Cemetery, MConnellsburg, Fulton County, Pennsylvania.
