SHOWALTER, Harry Miller, a Representative from Union County; born in Laurelton, Union County, Pa., September 15, 1879; graduated, Dickinson Seminary (now Lycoming College); graduated, Dickinson College, 1904; graduated, Dickinson College School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson Law), 1906; teacher; lawyer; solicitor, Lewisburg (1913-1939); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1910); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1912; reelected to serve 3 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1920); director, Lewisburg Gas Company; chief counsel, Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (1939-1943); died, December 17, 1949 in Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.
