BOOK, Raymond Thomas, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, February 14, 1925; attended, Robert Morris Business College; attended, University of Pittsburgh; served, United States Army (1943-1945, World War II); employed, J & L Steel Corporation; real estate broker and appraiser; member, Greater Pittsburgh Board of Realtors (1960-1980); elected, council, Whitehall (1980-1982); member, Allegheny County Advisory Council (1981-1982); member, Whitehall Republican Committee (1978-1980); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1982; reelected to serve 2 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Select Committee to Investigate Compliance with the Steel Products Procurement Act (1986); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1988); died, May 6, 2018 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. Gabriel Catholic Church Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
