SHOEMAKER, Merrion P., a Representative of Westmoreland County; born, April 3, 1871 in Salem Township, Westmoreland County, Pa.; attended, Greensburg Seminary; attended, Pennsylvania State (University) College; engaged in dairy farming; elected, State Board of Agriculture (1907-1913); clerk, auditor and supervisor, Hempfield Township; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1910; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1912, 1914, 1916); died, June 20, 1952 in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Saint Clair Cemetery, Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
