SHIELDS, Moses, Jr., a Representative from Wyoming County; born, April 24, 1853 in Monmouthshire, South Wales; attended, Tallmadge Academy, Ohio; teacher; general manager, Nicholson L. H. & P. Company;  treasurer and general manager, Moses Shields Stone Company; owner, Nicholson Record; elected, burgess, Nicholson; school director, Nicholson (18 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1904 and 1906; gubernatorial appointee, Special Commission to Investigate the State Capitol Scandal (1906-1907); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1909-1912); director, Nicholson Light, Heat and Power Company; appointed, clerk, Pennsylvania Auditor General’s office (1918); died, November 15, 1922 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; interred, Nicholson Cemetery, Nicholson, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania.
