SHERWOOD, Joseph Franklin, a Representative from Philadelphia County; born, January 23, 1871 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Central High School, 1889; newspaper reporter, North American (1890-1900); member, 26th Republican Ward; elected, common council, Philadelphia (1902-1908); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1910 and 1912; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1914); cashier, Tax Office, Philadelphia; died, November 26, 1919 in Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Woodlands Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
