SHANNON, Michael Francis, a Representative from Luzerne County; born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pa., February 7, 1871; attended, Wyoming Seminary, Kingston; coal miner; teacher; lawyer; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a Special Election, January 9, 1906; Sworn-In, January 15, 1906 and reelected to the 1907 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1908); reelected to the House in 1910;  unsuccessful campaign, judge, Luzerne County Orphans Court (1911); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1912); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1916); tax collector, Wilkes-Barre (1917-1921); died, February 24, 1949 in Georgetown, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
