SEAL, John Benjamin, a Representative from Dauphin County; born in Upper Paxton Township, Dauphin County, Pa., March 1, 1847; attended, Millersville State Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); teacher (8 years); principal, Millersburg High School (1 year); established, West Bangor Select School, York County; engaged, printing and stationary business (1872-1874); proprietor, editor, and publisher, Millersburg Herald (1874-1917); postmaster, United States Postal Service, Millersburg (1891-1895); elected, school board, Millersburg (1896-1902); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1885, 1899, and 1901 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1887 and 1903 terms; died, March 15, 1917 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania; interred, Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
