SCHOENER, Ralph E., a Representative from Berks County; born in Marion Township, Berks County, Pa., July 19, 1888; graduated, Keystone State Normal School (now Kutztown University of Pennsylvania), 1910; attended, University of Pennsylvania; attended, Muhlenberg College; graduated, Albright College, 1923; teacher; school principal (11 years); superintendent, Marion Township schools (30 years); farmer; engaged in real estate business; partner, insurance agency; appointed, justice of the peace (1916); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1923, 1925, and 1927 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1929 term; elected, controller, Berks County (1936-1952); died, December 20, 1964 in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania; interred, Zion’s Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery, Womelsdorf, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
