SASSAMAN, George Washington, a Representative from Berks County; born in Reading, Berks County, Pa., December 3, 1870; cigar manufacturer; elected, delegate, Democratic State Convention; elected, city council, Reading (3 terms); elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1911 term and reelected to serve the following term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1914); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1917-1920); died, February 19, 1930 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania; interred, Grandview Cemetery, Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
