ROTH, Jeremiah, a Representative from Lehigh County; born in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pa., May 20, 1833; teacher (3 years); elected, justice of the peace (1864-1865); farmer; draft horse and Jersey cattle breeder and trader; owner, Allentown Stock Farm; owner/proprietor, Allentown Bazaar; elected, council, Allentown (1874-1878); president, Lehigh County Agricultural Society (1884-1907); director, Second National Bank of Allentown; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1886 and 1890; reelected to the House in 1898, 1900 and 1902; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1888, 1894, 1896); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1892, 1904); died, January 22, 1907 in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union-West End Cemetery, Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.
