RIEDER, Howard Fox, a Representative from Westmoreland County; born, October 31, 1872 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; graduated, Jefferson Boys’ Senior School; employed, Pittsburgh Reduction Company; superintendent, tube and extrusion mills, United States Aluminum Company; auditor (8 years); elected, council, New Kensington (8 years); elected, council, Arnold (2 years); appointed then elected, burgess, Arnold (7 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1920; reelected to the House in 1924, 1926, 1928, and 1930; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1922, 1932); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1934); died, July 10, 1943 in New Kensington, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; interred, Union Cemetery, Arnold, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
