RICHARDS, Bart E., a Representative from Lawrence County; born, February 6, 1893 in  Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.; graduated, New Castle High School, 1909; secretary and columnist, Army Y.M.C.A.; associate editor, Trench and Camp, Camp Hancock, Georgia (World War I); sergeant, Troop A, 104th Calvary, United States Army (1920-1923); political writer and editor, New Castle News (1920-1963); director, Reporters Institute of the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publishers Association; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1926; served 3 consecutive terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1932); director, Lawrence County Civil Defense; elected, chair, parks and recreation board, Lawrence County; author; radio host; died, September 29, 1987 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.
