REEL, Mathias D., a Representative from Somerset County; born, December 15, 1857 in Shade Township, Somerset County, Pa.; attended, Indiana Normal School (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania); teacher (25 years); school director; appointed, Mercantile Appraiser, Somerset County (1899); elected, Clerk of Convention, Somerset County Republican Committee; clerk, Criminal Court, Somerset County (1901-1903); president, National Bank of Cairnbrook; farmer; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1910 and 1914; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1912, 1916); died, April 8, 1925 in Reel’s Corners, Somerset County, Pennsylvania; interred, Buckstown Cemetery, Buckstown, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
