RAYMOND, Laverne Harvey, a Representative from Erie County, born in Venango Township, Erie County, Pa., December 29, 1867; attended, Clark’s Business College, 1884; attended, Northwest State Normal School (now Pennsylvania Western University, Edinboro), 1887; school teacher, proprietor, general store (1890-1919); dairy farmer (1920-1935); elected, treasurer, Greenfield Township (2 terms); elected, auditor, Greenfield Township (1 term); elected, justice of the peace and notary public, Greenfield Township (6 years); director, Standard Insurance Company of Pittsburgh; director, Union Trust Company of Erie; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1923 and 1925 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1926); unsuccessful campaign, Pennsylvania State Senate (1927); died, August 23, 1935 in Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, Lowville Cemetery, Wattsburg, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
