RAYMOND, James Ross, a Representative from Erie County; born in Greenfield Township, Erie County, Pa., October 19, 1842; first sergeant, Company A, 111th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1861-1865, Civil War); farmer; local agent for McCormick H. M. Company, farm machines (1893); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1893 and 1895 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1896); hotelier; merchant; licensed auctioneer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1907 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1908); died, April 13, 1919 in North East, Erie County, Pennsylvania; interred, North East Cemetery, North East, Erie County, Pennsylvania.
