RAMSAY, Hugh Whiteford, a  Representative from York County, born, March 5, 1850 in Peach Bottom, York County, Pa.; attended, Millersville State  Normal School (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania); served, Company A, York County Zouaves (1875, coal strikes); corporal, 1st Regiment, Maryland Volunteer Infantry (1898, Spanish-American War); school teacher; engaged in the life insurance and real estate businesses; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1907 and 1909 terms; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1910); died, December 15, 1916 in Delta, York County, Pennsylvania; interred, Slateville Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Delta, York County, Pennsylvania.
