POWELL, John E., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in West Middlesex, Mercer County, Pa., September 18, 1868; employed, Wheeler Furnace Company; chief clerk, Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Company; manger, Allegheny Steam Laundry Company; president, Pittsburgh Light and Manufacturing; treasurer, National Cable and Wire Company; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1903 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1904); died, October 6, 1906 in West Middlesex, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred, Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
