PHILLIPS, William J., a Representative from Somerset County; born, September 22, 1883 in Blairs Furnace, Somerset County, Pa.; graduated, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, 1905; druggist; elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1924; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House as an Independent Party candidate (1926, 1928).
