PHILLIPS, Benjamin Shadrick, a Representative from Lackawanna County; born, August 15, 1854 in Aberdare Shere, South Wales; elected, auditor, Lackawanna Township (1888); superintendent of mines, mining and construction; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1909 and 1911 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1913 term; elected, sheriff, Lackawanna County (1914-1917); unsuccessful campaign, treasurer, Lackawanna County (1917); city food inspector, Scranton; died, July 29, 1929 in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania; interred, Washburn Street Cemetery, Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
