PETHICK, William Douglas, a Representative from Wayne County; born in Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pa., December 12, 1893; served, infantry, United States Army (1918, World War I); mechanic, Gurney Elevator Company; secretary-treasurer, Wayne Memorial Hospital (1924-1950); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1927 and 1929 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1930); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (1931-1934); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1934); superintendent, Wayne Memorial Hospital (1950-1956); died, June 18, 1956 in Honesdale, Wayne County, Pennsylvania.
