PATTERSON, George M., a Representative from Blair County; born in Williamsburg, Blair County, Pa., February 14, 1840; attended, Williamsburg Academy; attended, Iron City College (Duff’s Business Institute); sergeant, Company D, First Battalion, 22nd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry (1863-1865, Civil War); teacher (1 year); railroad contractor; foreman, Pennsylvania Canal; superintendent, stock and grain farm (5 years); farmer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1896, 1900, 1906 and 1908; appointed, Commission on Soldiers Orphan School Commission; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House (1898); not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902, 1904, 1910); died, February 22, 1925 in Williamsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
