PALMER, Cyrus Maffet, a Representative from Schuylkill County; born in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pa., February 12, 1887; graduated, Pottsville High School, 1904; attended, University of Pennsylvania, 1907; lawyer; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1915 term; reelected to serve 2 more consecutive terms; resigned from the House, December 16, 1919; elected, District Attorney, Schuylkill County (1920-1927); elected, United States Congress (1927-1929); elected, judge, Common Pleas Court, Schuylkill County (1931-1959: president judge, 1940-1959); elected, alternative delegate, Republican National Convention (1940); died, August 16, 1959 in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; interred, Charles Babar Cemetery, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
