NICHOLS, Francis M., a Representative from Luzerne County; born in Smithfield Township, Bradford County, Pa., May 23, 1849; attended, Lawrence State University; teacher; lawyer; elected, District Attorney, Luzerne County (1879); elected, mayor, Wilkes-Barre (1892-1902); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1908; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1910); died, October 6, 1921 in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hollenback Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
