NEEB, Charles William, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Mount Troy, Allegheny County, Pa., April 26, 1856; graduated, Ayer’s Latin School; graduated from Western University of Pennsylvania (now University of Pittsburgh), 1875; A.M and Ph.D., philosophy, University of Heidelberg, Germany, 1879; elected, 1st ward school board, Pittsburgh (1883-1887); elected, Common Council, Pittsburgh (1885-1897); member, Allegheny County Republican Committee; publisher (1889-1893), managing editor (1893-1898) and proprietor (1898-1901), Freiheits Freund newspaper; director, American Vanadium and Vanadium Chemical Company; member, Board of School Controllers of Allegheny; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1901 term; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1903); died, July 4, 1914 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Voegtly Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
