MURPHEY, William H., a Representative from Montgomery County; born, November 15, 1848 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pa.; carriage maker; school director, Cheltenham (20 years); elected, school board, Cheltenham (1880-1886); deputy recorder of deeds, Montgomery County (1894-1896); elected, recorder of deeds, Montgomery County (1897-1899); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1900; not a candidate for reelection to the House in the 1902 General election; secretary, board of commissioners, Cheltenham; died, June 14, 1910 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; interred, Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
