MORRISON, Levi, a Representative from Mercer County; born, August 8, 1839 in Sandy Creek Township, Mercer County, Pa.; graduated, Sheakleyville Select School; served, Company H, 55th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (Civil War); druggist; proprietor, lumber and shingle business; proprietor, oil barrel stave and lumber manufacturer, Morrison & Couse; owner and editor, Greenville Advance Argus and Evening Record; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1883 term and served 1 term; appointed, Farmers’ National Congress (1894-1915); reelected to the Pennsylvania House for the 1899 and 1901 terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1902); unsuccessful campaign, State Treasurer (1902); proprietor, Smith-Morrison Shoe Co. (1911); died, December 14, 1917 in Greenville, Mercer County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sheakleyville Cemetery, Sheakleyville, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
