MITCHELL, Lex N., a Representative from Jefferson County; born in Perrysville, Jefferson County, Pa., October 27, 1870; attended, Waynesburg College; school teacher; attorney; elected, delegate, Republican State Convention (1912); elected, delegate-at-large, Republican National Convention (Pennsylvania member of the Credentials Committee); elected, delegate-at-large, Progressive National Convention (1912); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1916; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1918); unsuccessful campaign, United States Congress (1918); died, February 12, 1934 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Perry Memorial Cemetery, Frostburg, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.
