MILLER, Christian, a Representative from Luzerne County; born in Hazleton, Luzerne County, Pa., May 6, 1859; attended, Mining and Mechanical Institute, Freeland; coal miner; mine foreman (21 years); elected, council, Freeland Borough (1915-1917); elected, mayor, Freeland Borough (1917-1922); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to the 1923 term and served 3 consecutive terms thereafter; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1928); appointed, adjuster, State Workmen’s Compensation Fund, Pennsylvania Department of Labor (1928-1934); died, December 21, 1937 in Freeland, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; interred, Mountain View Cemetery, West Hazleton, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
